Sexual Offender Registration

In New York, there are some sexual offenses that require a convicted defendant to register as a sex offender with the state.  Registration duties include providing frequent updates to authorities regarding personal information such as: employment, address or zip code of residence, intention to travel, and in some cases, even a picture of the convicted defendant.  These registration requirements pursuant to SORA (sexual offender registration act) are in addition to any other sentence (i.e. probation or incarceration) the court may impose.  At Cohen & Forman we have successfully defended clients against false allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual abuse and rape.

At Cohen & Forman we advocate vigorously on behalf of our clients interests in fighting for results, which allow our clients to resume normal lives and avoid the embarrassments of public stigma. Call us for a consultation today.
