Misdemeanors
In New York State a misdemeanor means an offense, other than a traffic infraction, for which a sentence to a term of imprisonment in excess of 15 days but not more than one year may be imposed. Misdemeanors are more serious than most people realize and convictions for them can have lasting and devastating consequences to an accused. Defending a misdemeanor, just like the defense of a felony, requires the skill of a seasoned and experienced attorney in order to avoid harsh negative consequences that can result from seemingly minor conduct.
